Reaction of a non-innocent o-aminophenol benzoxazole based ligand HLBAP with VOCl3 afforded a vanadyl complex, VOLBIS (SQ), in which SQ is a 2,4-di-tert-butylsemiquinone produced from hydrolysis of HLBAP.
