To a suspension of compound 5.3 (320 g, 1.53 mol) and K2CO3 (276 g, 2 mol) in EtOAC (3 L) was added MeI (238.9 g, 1.68 mol) below 20 C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 12 hours.
